Welcome to my blog! I’m a photographer based in Orange County, California. Wedding photography is what I specialize in but I love capturing ALL the special moments life has to offer! This blog serves as my online journal where I’ll post pictures from my most recent photo shoots, share my favorite “YouTube” videos, post adorable pictures of my dogs (yes, I’m one of “those” people), and talk about anything else I feel like! Take a look around…I hope you enjoy your time here!
I have been dreading, anticipating, and then again dreading this day for a LOOOONNGGGG while now. Today is officially my 30th birthday! Instead of sulking in misery, I made a promise to myself that I’m going to celebrate and enjoy every single second of today. While I still can’t believe I’m no longer in my 20′s (gosh..I must admit that it kind of sucks to say that!), I’m beginning a brand new chapter in my life and that is definitely something to be excited and happy about!
My 20′s were filled with ups and downs and all-arounds….falling in love, getting my heart broken, graduating from college, trying to figure out who I was, falling down during that process, and picking myself back up slowly but surely. I remember my mom saying this to me a few years ago and now I can finally utter the same words…I would NOT want to be 20 ever again! Sure I was young, wrinkle and fat free, but I also had to deal with idiotic boys, anxiety over what I wanted to be when I “grew” up and insecure about me not looking like a “super model”.
LOL..don’t get me wrong…I’m still insecure…only now, I’m insecure about the new wrinkles forming around my eyes and my ever expanding waist line! BTW, as an early birthday present to myself, I hired a personal trainer a few weeks ago and I’ve vowed to myself that I will one day weigh 125 pounds. So far, I’ve lost 3 pounds and feeling pretty darn good about it! I’m losing weight the right way this time by working out and eating healthier food…the only way to do it!
Since today is such a BIG day for me, I thought I’d start the celebration of by by taking a stroll down memory lane through the 30 years of my life! I hope you enjoy all the dorky pictures of me…I’m finally at a place in my life where I can show these pictures and not want to die of embarrassment :-)
It all began on May 29, 1978…
My Daddy :-)
My Mommy :-)
I had a big mouth when I was a baby..I still do :-)
I was at my cousins birthday…I peed in my pants that day!
One of my favorite pictures of me when I was younger :-) I love the shirt..I wish I had one now!
I still remember how GOOD this cake tasted!!!
I lived in in Washington state for the first few years of my life…some of my best childhood memories were there :-) Playing in the snow was one my favorites!
Like my grill?…or lack there of? ;-)
Awwww…I remember this Christmas vividly. My parents had just gotten divorced and it was just me and my mom living with my grandmother. We didn’t have a lot of money so she wrapped my old toys up so I would have something to open on Christmas :-( However, my Uncle Lou had sent a surpise…it was a brand new pink bike!!!
I think this was my 10th Birthday…my cousin Farah (Olivia’s mom) is in the yellow shirt, my two step brother’s are to my left, and my BFF at the time on my right. Oh, and my two Cabbage Patch dolls in my lap :-)
LOL…I tried soooo hard to make my hair look “good” that day for my 5th grade picture. Something went wrong…although I’m not quite sure what???
Seventh grade…I really thought my hair and that tie-dye shirt was the bomb!
10th Grade…the awkward stage was almost disappearing at this point.
Okay..the awkward stage was still there :-) Here is me and my sister Nicole trying to smile “really big” for my dad :-D
Same time…Dad took this pic of me :-)
LOL..I nearly died riding that horse! We were all taking a tour in Big Bear. All of a sudden my horse turns to the right and starts galloping off the trail. I was holding on to dear life hoping that the horse wasn’t going to gallop right of the darn mountain!!!
Senior Prom…I must admit..I was a little too skinny here…especially in the face! But damn, I wish my arms looked like that now!!! I was pretty fashion forward back then..the Ivory colored part of my dress was made of rubber!
High School Graduation…my little sister Christine was so small then!
hehehe…my first “professional” picture taken in a studio :-) I think I was either 20 or 21 here.
Almost 6 years ago..me and my BFF LoAnn! Gosh we look so bright eyed and bushy tailed!
I graduated from college on my 25th birthday! Here I am with my little sis Christine and my big brother Tim!emoved_style="text-align: center">
Doug and I during our first year together :-)
Awwww…our engagement party!
Our engagement pictures we took when we lived in Virginia while Doug was going to business school.
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to post this picture or not because it makes me sad but this was a very important time in my life. This was the first and last time Doug met my dad. He was very ill and we knew he didn’t have much longer. We hoped he would make it to our wedding which was just six months away but he passed away just a couple of months later. I love him and miss him so much…but I KNOW he is looking down on me and smiling…he loved photography and I’m sure he NEVER thought I’d follow in his footsteps :-) I’d like to think I’ve been able to follow my passion for photography with a little help from up above :-) I love you daddy!!!
May 29, 2005…the moment I had been waiting for my whole life…to marry the man of my dreams! My wonderful and amazing husband Doug!
Of course I had to post some recent pictures of me taken by the fabulous Jessica Claire!
I worked out like crazy and ate nothing but Lean Cuisines for two weeks straight before this shoot. It payed off because I lost 6 pounds….but then gained everything back plus more in less than 2 weeks! Note to self: do not deprive yourself of your favorite foods or you will go buck wild and crazy and eat everything..and then some!
One of my favorite photographers, Jennifer Skog, took these fab pictures of me just a couple of months ago…
Well that’s it! Can’t believe 30 years have come and gone so fast! Can’t wait to see what the next 30 years hold…Happy Birthday Me! To celebrate, some of my girlfriends and I are going to Vegas this weekend to celebrate. I hope I’ll have some stories to tell when I get back but you know what they say…what happens in Vegas STAYS in Vegas ;-) Just kidding honey :-)
Last but certainly NOT least, I want to wish my handsome, wonderful, super amazing husband Doug a Happy 3 Year Anniversary! The MINUTE you walked into my life, everything changed for the better. You are my lucky charm…the night in shining armor that came along and made all my dreams come true! I love you so much and you are the best birthday gift I’ll ever receive for the next 67 years!!! I love you..infinity and beyond!
