This past weekend, I had the pleasure of capturing Sivyu and Randy’s wedding at the Japanese Gardens at Cal State Long Beach! It was INCREDIBLY hot but Randy and Sivyu did not let the weather ruin their day whatsoever!

It was quite refreshing to see Randy and Sivyu together…not only did they get ready in the same room, Randy even helped when Sivyu put her dress on! They are so in tune with each other and just feel so comfortable with one another… I guess you’d expect that since they have been dating for over 12 years! They started going out their freshman year in highschool…how cute!

Sivyu and Randy…thanks so much for being totally awesome! Congratulations on FINALLY getting married! hahaha.. j/k!

It was SOOOOO HOT that day but Sivyu still looked radiant walking down the aisle :-)

I LOVE bamboo!

My Favorite!

The garden served as the perfect backdrop for a summer wedding…

Brain Dump

June.18.2008 | My Life

So, I know I’ve been totally MIA lately but totally with good reason! I’m busy with this thing called “work”. It takes up a lot of my time and lately, I’ve had a lot of it! So, blogging is at the bottom of the pile “o’ things to do”. However, I was feeling guilty about being a bad blogger so I knew I had to post something! While doing my daily blog run, I cam across this totally cute post from Kelly Moore’s blog and thought…what a great idea! So, here is my brain dump: -I was supposed to blog about my trip to NY, but I think it’s too boring to have it’s own blog post so here it is in a nutshell: Doug and I went to Ithaca, NY for his 10 Year Cornell Reunion. It was super hot, there was actually a heat wave going on and I was lame enough to wear jeans in 94 degree weather with 40% humidity. I wore cute shoes to walk around ALL over campus and got two blisters..yay for me! At one of the BBQ’s, Doug’s friend asked if Doug had taken me to any of the romantic spots on campus…”Nope!” I said…not a one….Darn that Doug is sooo romantic! I asked him why he didn’t and he said that he didn’t know of any of them! Overall, I was glad to see where Doug spent his “glory days”. The campus is really beautiful and they have this beautiful lake on the campus…I’d show you a picture of it but I don’t have time to figure out how to transfer pictures from my iphone to my computer! LOL -my “mouse” arm has been bugging me. I think it’s because I work too much on the computer! I think it’s about time to get a Wacom tablet -*sigh* I need to lose weight! What can I say…I just love food! -I can’t wait for the NKOTB concert! That’s right…my friends and I got tickets for their show in October :-) -I want an entirely new wardrobe. The clothes in my closet are over 5 years old because I keep telling myself that one day I will fit into them again! Truth is, I don’t like ANY of them anymore! LOL..I’ve been beating myself up for not being able to fit into clothes I don’t even like any more… crazy is that??? -My new TV obsession is Jon and Kate plus Eight! The first time I watched it, I thought “what’s the big deal?” Somewhere along the way, I was hooked and can’t get enough of them! -I hope nobody ever asks me how old I am ever again! I really don’t like the word “thirty” seems foreign and weird to me. Now I know why they call it “the dirty thirty”. Because it makes you feel icky when you say it! -Why do people think it’s a compliment when they tell me I don’t look a day over 27? Hello???? That is just 3 years from 30? If you really want to make me feel good, say I don’t look a day over 23 :-) -I hate my hair. I’ve never actually liked my hair but right now, my hair totally sucks! I don’t know what to do with it? Anybody have a super FABULOUS hair stylist they’d like to send my way? -I’m hungry. I can’t wait for lunch! -I can’t wait to see Olivia tonight! Doug and I go through Olivia withdrawals when we haven’t seen her in awhile. BTW, she has bangs now :-) Her mom was vacuuming and Olivia was laying on the floor and liked the “danger” of the vacuum being so close to her. She liked it so much that she inched closer and closer to it until it sucked it up her hair! LOL..the aftermath was of course, her new bangs :-) They actually looked really cute..UNTIL her mom trimmed them again! Now they are above her eyebrows and she has the look of “my mom cut my hair”. I’m sure you all know how that is! -uuggghhhh…I really need to make an appointment with the dentist for a checkup…I HATE the dentist! -I want a house already! Doug and I have been wanting a house for-like-ever now!!!! Hopefully, that will happen soon soon soon!!! -Do any of you blog readers know of some cool shopping websites? Like a site that sells cute clothes, cute shoes, cute anything? Leave a comment and tell me where! -If you like this brain dump thing and plan on doing it on your blog, give me the link..I wanna see! Okay, I think I’ve done enough brain dumping for today :-) Have a great one!

Kym March: OMG - I am obsessed with "John and Kate Plus Eight"...That show is the best. Those kids are so darn cute! Also, I have a fabulous hair stylist. My best friend works at Eli Alexander Salon in Mission Viejo. She is great. Let me know if you want her name and number. I loved reading your brain dump. Thats a great idea! Talk to you soon.  - Kym June 25, 2008 12:00 am

Sarah: Hi Trista! I´ve been following your blog for a while now... you take lovely pictures :)  I love the brain dumping idea, I´ll have to try it out.  I do have a great stylist I can recommend, but you would have to drive up to LA to see him. Email me if you want the info.  Keep up the great work! June 24, 2008 12:00 am

inga: 30s are the new 20, Trista! How can you feel weird saying you´re 30!? That is terrible (lol)!

And I SO feel you on wanting an entire new wardrobe. I feel the same way. *sigh* All my clothes are just OLD, all the way from the purses to the shoes and everything along the way. :( June 24, 2008 12:00 am

Trista: Jessica@Stella Event Design - I love Anthropologie too!  I always forget they have an online store..thanks for reminding me!

Drew - my fav as well as Doug´s is Alexis..we want one just like her!  Minus the loud crying!

Julie...I think I´m totally going to through away all of my clothes...what´s the point of holding on to them right?

Cathy Crawley - I´m sooooo jealous!!!

Kim - I´m totally going to email you for the hairdresser info.  Can´t wait to see you at Kylie´s wedding in August!

Melissa - thanks so much for the websites!  I love shopbop and can´t wait to check out the others!

Jasmine - awwwww...I forgot about the mountain bikes :-)  I guess he is romantic in a mountain-bikey kind of way :-)

Kristi - awwww...thanks!!!  However, I must mention that I´ve gained about 6 pounds since then and it ain´t lookin´ pretty in the muffin top section of mine :-) June 20, 2008 12:00 am

kristeen: I can´t wait for NKOTB either! June 19, 2008 12:00 am

Cathy Crawley: Ok I have to comment.  Back in 1992 I was working at Bobby McGees in Melboune Australia dressed up as Scarlet O´Hara. These 4 spunky boys walked in, so I, playing Scarlet began chatting to them in a Southern accent.  Flirting was definitely going on, before I knew it about 50 girls were banging on the windows  screaming.  I had no idea what was going on, I went back to the front desk only to be told that I was in the middle of talking to the boys from New Kids On The Block!  Yep girls, I was *this close* ; June 19, 2008 12:00 am

Tira J: Hi Trista.  I have been "stalking" your blog for a while now and found you through J*.  Loved this post and I am contemplating on doing this type of entry.  Just not sure if I want to let is "all hang out" as some would say.  I will definitely let you know.  Peace to you.  Oh, and Happy Belated Birthday.  30 was a GREAT year for me and I know it will be for you as well. June 19, 2008 12:00 am

Kim: I´m totally in love with Jon & Kate Plus 8.  I force the husband to watch it with me.

I have a great friend/hairdresser in Newport that I can refer you to.  I bet if you tell her you´re a photographer and would shoot her daughter she´d give you a discount or something.  E-mail me if you want her name and phone number.

I need to lose weight too.  I can´t get out of the mentality that I´m no longer in high school and have the metabolism of a18 year old!

Looking forward to seeing you at Kylie´s wedding. June 19, 2008 12:00 am

Melissa: I love John and Kate Plus Eight too! As for recommendations for shopping check out:,, and June 19, 2008 12:00 am

Jasmine*: Darn that Doug....he´s SOOOO romantic!!  ;)
However, please note that he did load up your cute mountain bikes for your weekend trip to Mailbu...that´s not only romantic...that´s love!  :) June 19, 2008 12:00 am

Kristi: After seeing your images on Jessica Claire´s blog, I just have to make one comment...."Are you kidding about needgin to lose weight???"  You are absolutely stunning! June 19, 2008 12:00 am

Jessica @ Stella Event Design: One of my favorite places for all things cute (and fun) is We don´t have any stores around here (checked out one in Las Vegas and LOVED it) so I´m restricted to the .com version---shop on! Also, I´m looking forward to doing my own brain dump very soon--what a fun idea! June 18, 2008 12:00 am

DrewB: Love the brain dump!  You are too funny!  John and Kate Plus Eight is seriously the best show ever.  I love Aidan and Hannah.  They are my favorite! June 18, 2008 12:00 am

Julie: great brain dump! can i just say, i´m in the same boat as you regarding saving clothes and hoping to fit into them again? however, i realized that it doesn´t do anything to motivate me to get back into shape. last month, i forced myself to throw out almost all the clothes i didn´t fit into (i did, however, save ONE pair of expensive jeans and ONE pretty dress)...i came to the conclusion that our bodies change in a good way in the mid to late 20´s. since i threw out the clothes, I bought new ones that are actually fitting me loosely now and I am almost back into those old jeans. i´m telling you, get a new will motivate you! June 18, 2008 12:00 am

Amanda Auer: Jon and Kate plus 8- I totally get it! I can´t get enough of those little ones!! :) June 18, 2008 12:00 am
