Doug and I are actually on a mini vacation in NY right now for a wedding we’re attending this weekend but I didn’t want to wait to blog about this when I return home next week.

I flew to DC earlier today for a shoot that I was very excited about. While shooting, I learned of Michael Jackson’s untimely death and was in complete shock. Michael Jackson was the love of my life when I was a little girl…I was 4 or 5 when I first discovered his music and I just couldn’t get enough of it. Everyone in my family knew that I loved him and would always tease me about it…but my mom understood..she bought me shirts with his face on them and I’ve got to say those shirts were my most prized possessions as a child.

As I grew up, my obsession with Michael faded but at my core, I was and always would be an MJ fan. I’m sure MANY of you share the same feelings I do about Michael and have your own childhood memories of him and how his music was the soundtrack to your youth. There is so much I want to say but I just don’t have the words right now.

He will be missed by me and the millions of fans he had all over the world!!! Reast In Peace Michael…you will always be in our hearts!

I had such an amazing time at Melissa and Andrew’s wedding for so many different reasons!! To name a few, I was going to be working with Christina from Simply Modern Weddings for the first time..even though we’ve known each other for years!! Christina referred Melissa and Andrew to me (thanks Christina) and when I first met Melissa, she left such a great impression on me and I knew that I wanted to shoot her wedding. She was as sweet as can be and the conversation was just easy..like it should be! When Christina told me all she had in store for their wedding, I was so excited! Christina has exquisite taste as does Melissa so the two were a perfect pair in creating the wedding of Melissa’s dreams. The day was gorgeous as were all of beautiful details!

Melissa and Andrew…thanks so much for having me at your wedding! You are the sweetest couple and I can’t tell you how much fun I had at your wedding! I wish you nothing but the BEST! Have a great time in Maui!!

When Christina first approached me about doing a photobooth at the wedding, I was excited..and NERVOUS! After much practicing before the wedding to make sure everything went smoothly, I have to say the photobooth was a hit!! It was great getting to interact with all the guests and seeing what they came up with! Hand to heart…I did not tell these guys to do this. I asked one of them if they wanted the hairy chest, he said no, but can I take my pants off? LOL!!! I thought he was kidding! Then he proceeded to unbutton his pants and so did his friend!

Wedding Coordinator: Christina Wright from Simply Modern Weddings. Christina is seriously the BOMB! What impressed me the most about her was how much she CARES about her clients and wanting everything to be perfect!! It definitely shows in her work and I’m so glad I got to finally work with her!

Florist: Kristin Branceleone from The Treasured Petal. Kristin is not only a very good friend of mine, she is also an AMAZING florist! I’ve worked with Kristin so many times I’ve lost count!

DJ: Eric Mosqueda from SoCal-DJ. This was my second time working with Eric and it was awesome! He played great music and kept the dance floor full!

Lighting: Rainbow Sound and Lighting. Lighting is key to transforming a room. If you haven’t thought of lighting for your event, you should! This is the second time I’ve worked with them and their lighting is always beautiful!

Makeup: Vivian from All Made Up. One of the top makeup artists in So-Cal..beautiful work!!

Cupcakes: V anilla Bake Shop..need I say more?? Yummy!!!

Officiant: Greg Mohr from You May Kiss the Bride. Beautiful ceremony!

Venue: Lowes Santa Monica Beach Hotel (Contact: David Houde). Such a beautiful venue and amazing staff! David was a delight to work with!
