Sh*t my Doug says…

October.26.2010 | My Life

Disclaimer: the title of this post is borrowed from the now infamous “Sh*t My Dad Says”.  Please don’t take any’s all in good fun :-)

Below is a telephone conversation that Doug and I just had during his lunch hour:

Doug: “Did you try the new peaches in the fridge yet?”

Me: “No, why?”

Doug: “Dole changed their peaches now where it’s supposed to be like real fruit juice or something and when I tasted it, it was disgusting!!  I almost wanted to call them and tell them how horrible it was!

Me: “That sucks”.

Doug: “Yeah…first Apple Jacks screws me over by putting fiber into their cereal telling me that it’s still going to taste the same and then when I tried it I was like “this is bs!  It doesn’t taste the same!  I swear I should write them a letter and tell them that I’ve been eating Apple Jacks for many years now and….

Me: *laughing* “Yeah honey, I’m sure the executives were sitting in their offices saying “Yeah that Doug Lerit, we’re going to screw him over by putting fiber into the cereal!!”

Doug: “Exactly!  Maybe I should just try to find Apple Jacks in another country or something where they are less health conscious.  Maybe they will have the original Apple Jacks…”

LOL…sigh…I love my husband…he says the darndest things sometimes :-)

Of course…I couldn’t post this without a recent picture of my Doug so here you go (he is the one in the far right rocking the “GTL” shirt)

From left to right: Alice’s hubby, Serena’s hubby, Caroline’s hubby, and my hubby :-)

My friends Alice & Serena had a joint “Jersey Shore” birthday party this weekend and it was a blast!  I tried my best to look jersey-liscious but my cheesy glitter eye makeup didn’t show up on camera…just trust me on would have put J-Wow to shame!  BTW, I have a new found appreciation for Pauly-D.  I tried my best to guido-ize Doug’s hair and this was the best I could do…those spikes take a lot of work!

christina: hahahahahahahh........i almost chocked on myself laughing! you guys are too silly! November 5, 2010 11:40 am

Alice: Seriously the best blog post ever!!! You guys are the best :) xoxo October 28, 2010 9:00 pm

It has been awhile since I shot a wedding on an overcast day and I just gotta say…I love it!  For some reason, the overcast weather just made the day a little more magical.  Of course there was enough magic just from being around April & Joe.  They have this “crazy in love” chemistry that is undeniable!  They have a love for life, family, and fun that you don’t get to see very often.  You could see from just looking around the room that everyone was happy and thankful to be there with April & Joe.  You see, Joe is a marine and had been in Afghanistan for many months last year and to have him home, happy & safe and getting married to the love of his life was all they could possibly hope for.

April & Joe, seeing the “spark” between you two brings a big smile to my face…if everyone in the world can experience the love that you two have, this world would be a much happier place :-)

Now for some favorites!  I loved the fall colors that April & Joe picked out…

I love this moment between April’s Mom & Grandma :-)

If you didn’t already know, “dipping” is Joe’s thing :-)

I adore this image of April & her flower girls…so precious!

I ADORE this image!  I love the grounds at Strawberry Farms…I felt like I was in the country somewhere!

The overcast light created a soft even light on them…I love it!

I loved all the details!!

The twinkle lights in the red barn at Strawberry Farms gives this image of the gorgeous cake an extra little “oomph”.

I LOVE this image of the bridal party waiting to make their grand entrance…

Did I mention Joe and his love of dipping? ;-)

When I first met with April, she asked if I could refer her to any good bands.  I jumped at the chance to recommend The Rembrandt Band…I saw them play at a wedding last year and was SO impressed.  To my delight, April hired them and I was impressed yet again at what a fantastic job they did of getting the party started!!!  If you’re looking for a band, I can’t recommend them enough!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this!  Pefect way to end the night :-)
