What touched me the most about Jackie & Josh’s wedding was just how much they loved their families, how much their families loved them and how much their families loved each other.  In my nearly 6 years of shooting weddings, I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed such closeness and appreciation amongst the families.  Both Jackie’s parents and Josh’s parents thanked each other during the toasts and I can only hope that when I have kids and they get married, that I will be as lucky to have that kind of relationship as well.  Jackie & Josh truly are lucky to have such amazing role models to look up to and model their marriage after.  It was really any honor to witness the traditions of both their families and see all the generations come together to celebrate…something I will always remember!

Jackie & Josh…I’m so happy for you and thankful to have shared such a special moment with you and your wonderful families!  Mazel tov! (I’ve always wanted to say that!)

Perfect backdrop for a wedding dress don’t you think?

Jackie looked so beautiful the day!!!

I love when couples choose to do a first look…it gives them a chance to have some alone time before the ceremony, have more time for portraits, talk about the excitement of the day…

and relax and have fun!

I love seeing my couples happy :-)

So glad that Josh & Jackie decided to do a first look since their ceremony would be taking place at sunset.  This gave us plenty of time for pictures with beautiful natural light!

This is definitely one of my favorite images of the day!

I LOVED the lobby at the Portofino Hotel…love love love!!!

Some fun with their bridal party before the festivities begin!

During the Ketubah signing I couldn’t help but notice how often Jackie & Josh would steal glances at one another…I love that!

I loved all the traditions in Jackie & Josh’s wedding ceremony…here they are circling right after Jackie’s walk down the aisle…

Right before sunset!

I’ve always wanted to do this!  It looks like so much fun!

The parents got in on the fun too!

I absolutely LOVE this photo of the grandmother’s cutting the challah…so special to have them all together!

The band Word of Mouth was awesome!  I actually referred Jackie & Josh to them since they played at my wedding over 6 years ago!

LOL…I didn’t know Jackie & Josh knew Will Ferrell??

As you could see in the earlier photo the dance floor was crazy so this crew decided to party at their table…very smart!  More room to dance and shake your booty!

I love the mischievous look on Jackie’s face :-)

Okay, so this may not be the perfect photo (I was shooting with the camera over my head) but I had to show proof that Josh did in fact plank at his wedding…how cool is that?!?!

November.02.2011 | Rascals

What a beautiful family Stella, Jay, and baby Jacob make!  I had such a fun time chasing little Jacob around (by chase I really do mean chase)!  Jacob hit the ground running right from the get go and all we could do was just try to catch up :-)  It was a beautiful day in San Diego (overcast but beautiful nonetheless) for a portrait session and I couldn’t of chosen a sweeter family to spend it with.  Stella first learned of my work when I shot one of her friends weddings years ago and I’m so happy that she thought to contact me when it was time to capture her growing family :-)

Thanks Stella for allowing me to capture this sweet moment in your life when your baby boy is growing into a happy, handsome, and ACTIVE little guy :-)

Aren’t they a beautiful family?

Baby smiles are the best :-)

Jacob is a daddy’s boy for sure :-)

LOL…if you were there with us at the shoot you will understand just how amazing it was to get this photo…let’s just say it was about 15 minutes in the making ;-)  What are you gonna do right?  Kids will be kids…lol!

I can’t get over how cute they are together!

Jacob LOVED the sand!  It was the one one area that slowed him down and made him want to sit down and explore :-)

I love this one!

Mom and Dad need some portraits too!

Nicki: What beautiful family! Great shots!! November 12, 2011 3:54 pm
