Sooooo…Doug and I had a wonderful time in Malibu this past weekend and I must thank my friend Jasmine for giving us a reason to even get away for the weekend. I started the weekend off on Friday when Jas and I headed up to the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu (thanks for driving Jas!) to shoot Christine and Noland’s GORGEOUS wedding! I seriously loved everything..the dress, flowers, location..EVERYTHING!

Although I was technically “working”, it really didn’t feel like work at all. Second shooting is fun because you can get as creative as you want without the stress of being the main photographer and needing to get “the shot”. I’ve only second shot for my buddies a couple of times but I think I want to do it more often!

This past weekend, I headed up Malibu for Carrie and Derek’s wedding. It was my first time visiting Malibu and I have to say I LOVE it there!!! I have a couple of more weddings this year in Malibu and I can’t wait to go back!

Carrie and Derek both live in Boston while Derek’s family lives in New Zealand. Malibu was in the “middle” for both of their families so it was only fair they have it there..on top of it being a gorgeous location of course ;-) They got married at the Malibu West Beach Club which was right on the beach so it was a perfect spot for a lovely afternoon beach wedding! They had 50 of their closest friends and family there and I must say, I do love the intimacy of a small wedding!

The day went off without a hitch thanks to the lovely and totally awesome Jennifer Johnson of OC’s Finest Weddings! Her and her assistant Brianna were just awesome and I just love working with these girls..everytime we work together it’s so much fun! Tied with the lovely floral decor of Flower Allie, it was beautiful day that I know Carrie and Derek will cherish forever.

Carrie and Derek, I had so much fun with you and your family and friends! Have a wonderful time in Kauai and Maui…I’m so jealous!!! ;-)
