Siena Turns One!

I still remember like it was yesterday when I came over to my friends Kristin & Joe’s house to capture sweet Siena when she was just a few days old. Most of the time when I see a newborn and try to figure out if they look like mom or dad I just can’t do it…they just look like “baby” to me. However, when I first met Siena, I immediately knew she looked just like her mom…as did everyone else! Now here we are a year later and every time I see Siena now, I see a perfect combination of Kristin and Joe.

SiSi (her nickname) is just the cutest thing ever and every single time she smiles at me my heart just bursts with joy! She is such a good baby and a talented one at that…check out her break dancing skills here: SiSi Breakdances

Kristin, Joe, and my beautiful, sweet, wonderful SiSi…I’m so lucky to have such sweet & lovely people in my life! It has been a pleasure sharing all these wonderful life moments with you…here’s to many many more! xoxo

Newborn Portraits : Sydney (and CJ!)

OMG…these two little rascals you are about to meet are just SCRUMPTIOUS! I nearly melted into a big puddle of mush when I first saw CJ and his chubby cheeks…and then I met his baby sister Sydney who had the identical cheeks but in newborn form :-) Sydney & CJ’s parents basically won the chubby-cheek-lottery with these two…what more could parents ask for right? Kissable chubby cheeks = parental bliss….actually, kissable chubby cheeks that are sleeping through the night = parental bliss :-D

Thanks to Yuwen & Clifton for having me in their beautiful home and capturing the sweet fleeting moments of their two babies! Thanks also to my friend Elsa for sending this adorable family my way! xoxo

Now for the adorableness! Like, seriously CJ…could you be any cuter??!! Look at those pouty lips!

Newborn babies are usually sleepy most of the day but Sydney was wide awake for our session! I actually quite enjoyed it since I got to see her beautiful sweet eyes :-)

UCLA Engagement Session : Teela & Jarrad!

Teela & Jarrad first met each other through a mutual friend at UCLA several years ago. Now here they are with a sweet little boy and a wedding in just a couple of months! Of course it was only suiting for them to do their engagement session at UCLA where they first met. It is such a beautiful campus…I can see why they fell in love there! Perfect setting for young college sweetheart love :-) I had so much fun with Teela & Jarrad…especially poking fun at Jarrad for his smizing skills :-)

Teela & Jarrad will be celebrating their wedding at the Bel Air Bay Club in March and I cannot wait to see what Kristeen Labrot has planned for their day!

Teela & Jarrad make quite a beautiful couple don’t they? BTW, I love Teela’s denim dress…perfect combo of casual, chic & sexy!

Since Jarrad is a big & manly football player in the NFL, smiling is not really his cup of tea ;-) But smizing? He is an expert at that :-D

LOL…this one makes me laugh! Teela was soooo scared to get on this railing because right below was the ocean! Jarrad had some fun playing with her for sure…she could not get off that thing quick enough! Thanks for being such a trooper Teela!

Charisse & Patrick’s wedding at the Riviera Country Club!

Last wedding of the year on the last day of 2011! What better way to ring in the new year than to celebrate with one of my couples?! It was a beautiful, some-what foggy day which made the day just a little more magical :-) Some of my most favorite moments were : 1. Patrick shedding a tear (or two) when he saw Charisse walking down the aisle AND when he was saying his vows 2. Patrick doing a little jig after Charisse and him said their vows and the priest saying “hold up…not done yet!”…lol 3. Patrick thanking Charisse during their toasts and he called her his better 15/16th’s (instead of better half)….how cute is that?

Charisse and Patrick…thanks so much for sharing your day with me! I had SO much fun with you guys…I can already tell that your marriage will be filled with many many laughs…one of the most important things in a marriage! You guys are off to a fantastic start :-)

Now for some highlights from the day!

You know your marriage is off to a great start when your room number is this (for you youngins’ who may not know this, 143 was “pager code” for “I love you” circa the early 1990′s :-)

Last family portrait of the year! What better way to end the season then with my friend Jane & her family? I’ve known Jane for over 20 years…wow…I can’t believe it’s been that long! I remember being a little kid looking up to Jane because I thought she was so cool and now here we are and she has three beautiful children…time flies!

Rascals : Blayke & Smith

Another beautiful family session for the holidays! Every year I always think that December will be a slow month for me until I remember that December is “family photo” time :-) It’s always fun to see the little rascals get dressed up in their cutest outfits and run around and drive their parents crazy…lol! Happens EVERY time! Although through all the craziness I’m usually able to capture some sweet moments in between the joyful chaos :-) Here are just a few of my favorite moments with Blayke & Smith…don’t you just love those names?!

Balboa Bay Club Newport Beach Wedding : Tracy & Thanh

Tracy & Thanh’s story is truly romantic one. They had met over a decade ago right when Tracy was about to go to school in Nevada. Thanh felt a connection with her and did not want to let her get away so he maintained contact with her during the years she was in school and once she came back to CA he was never going to let her go :-) Here they are now…married and full of joy! It was so sweet to see moments of the day when Tracy and/or Thanh would be in tears over just how happy they were to be married and to share this day with their family they love so much. It was an honor to get to experience the day with them and to also have come to know them…they are such a sweet couple and I feel lucky to have them as my clients :-)

Tracy & Thanh…I hope you’re having an AMAZING time in Maui! Soooooooooooo jealous!!!!!

What a charming wedding! I love how Nancy & Dave incorporated their love of music into their special day. They wanted their wedding to feel a like concert so they passed out programs, “backstage” passes, glow sticks, and had their favorite bands as table names at the reception. Nancy & Dave are so thoughtful they even made a special backstage pass for me with “rad photographer” on it……awwwwww…I love them!

Nancy & Dave, you guys are just awesome…no, you guys are SOOOOO RAD!!! Thank you for being so sweet to me in the short few months that we’ve worked together. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds for you both…xoxoxo

Surf and Sand Laguna Beach Wedding : Danielle & Jung

I had been watching the weather all week…each day leading up to it I saw rain on Saturday! “Oh no” I thought…we’ll just have to make due. Until that Thursday when the rain moved to Sunday!!! I was so happy and when I finally showed up to the Surf and Sand in Laguna Beach I was giddy with joy. The sky was beautiful…this kind of sky you don’t get very often. It happens usually after it rains and then that’s it. I felt lucky that day…not only for the beautiful skies but also for the company. Danielle & Jung were getting married and I couldn’t be more happy for them!

Their wedding was intimate with their closest friends and family in attendance…this kind of wedding is always my favorite. Everyone gets to dance together, laugh together, and make wonderful memories! My most favorite part of the wedding was during the Maid of Honor’s toast when she was reminiscing about a card that Danielle gave Jung…it had a rice and bean on the front…nuff said…so cute!!

Danielle and Jung…I’m so happy for you! Here’s to a hundred more years of love & happiness :-)

Rascals : Christina & Allie

This is my fourth time getting to photograph Christina & Allie. The first time was in their mommies belly, second was when they were just a few weeks old, third was their first Christmas, and then this year! It was has been so fun seeing them grow up into beautiful little girls! I can’t wait to see how their personalities evolve in the next few years…they already are so different! Allie was happy to see me initially while Christina was a little shy and pensive at first. Then as we started shooting, Christina was all smiles while getting her picture taken while Allie just wanted to play & chill at the park :-) Can you blame her? ;-)
