Welcome to my blog! My name is Trista Lerit and I am a wedding photographer based in Orange County, California. Beautiful, Modern, and Edgy Wedding Photography is what I specialize in but every now and then, I love capturing little rascals a.k.a. kids!

This blog is where I'll post pictures from weddings, engagements, and little rascal sessions that I've shot recently. However, I won't limit my posts to photography related things only! This blog also doubles as my online diary where I'll discuss my love of food, share my favorite YouTube videos, post adorable pictures of my dogs (yes, I'm one of THOSE people), and talk about anything else I feel like!

I'd love to hear from all my blog visitors so please don't be shy, my blog doesn't bite ;-)

Thanks for stopping by and come again soon!

Home Decor : Hollywood Regency 01-27-2009

Well, when I asked you guys if you wanted to hear about my home decorating adventures, I had no idea how many of my peeps in the blog world cared so much about home decor & design!  It seemed to be a mixed response about whether I should keep all the home talk on this blog or move it to another one so I'm still unsure about what I'm going to do.  However, until I decide on the one blog vs. two, I won't keep you waiting to see my ideas and/or inspiration for my home!

Let me just say..as much as I love searching from decorating ideas, it stresses the heck out of me because it is a HUGE commitment to say "I'm going to decorate my house like x, y, and z".  Why you ask?  Because paint, furniture, window treatments and the like are darn expensive and I can't just say "ugghh..that couch doesn't work..I'm going to throw it out and buy a new one".  So, when it came to deciding on the "look" I wanted to have, it was hard because anybody that knows me, knows that I like bold, eccentric, and out-of-the ordinary things.  Which is normally fine and dandy but home decor is a whole different matter.  After all, I have a hubby who likes just the opposite of bold & eccentric :-)  I'm "Betsey Johnson"..he is "Ralph Lauren".  Catch my drift?

Anyhow, in the beginning I just collected bunches of pictures from magazines and design blogs and ended up with a big ol' mountain of ideas until I started seeing a theme to all of them.  They all looked similar but different and it became quite apparent that the style I always seemed to gravitate towards was "Hollywood Regency".

To my utter surprise and shock, Doug actually liked the style!  That was a HUGE relief to me because I swear, I don't know what I would have done if he didn't!  Marriage is all about compromise people..although sometimes I must admit I did wish we could have also bought the house next door to us so that Doug could have his own home to decorate.  Even though he liked the style of Hollywood Regency, there were many things I showed him that he DIDN'T like...sometimes Mr. Lerit totally cramps my style! :-)

Now for the fun!  Here are some pretty pictures I collected online.  I never thought I would blog about this stuff so unfortunately, I can't give credit to whoever I nabbed these pictures from...sorry!

These are some of my favorite looks...like I said..they are similar but very different!

I love the red and green accents!

One of my favorite looks..a little too much black and white for my taste but I still love it.

I don't think I'll ever go this wild but I do love it!

This room is a mix of hollywood regency and traditional but I love the casual feel of the room.

LOVE the couch and wallpaper!

One of my other favorites.  I love this room but I don't particularly like the color red..but if someone came into my home and decorated it like this, I'm not going to complain that's for sure :-)

Again, bolder than I'll probably ever go but I love it!

Love the Teal chairs!

This ceiling is totally cute..I think it would look great in my office!

Vintage & Elegant is the vibe I get from this...

Love the ceiling treatment!

When I saw this picture, I fell in love!  It's modern, glamourous, yet also understated (compared to the looks above).  I'm leaning towards this look for my living room...we'll see if I can come close!

Kate Triano and her hubby Joe! 01-21-2009

Kate and I met a couple years ago at a workshop and have been internet buddies ever since :-)  We share a love of photography, cute doggies, and of course...NKOTB!!!! When Kate contacted me a couple of months ago letting me know that she was going to be in town and that she wanted to do a shoot with lil ol' me,  I was excited beyond belief because I knew the session was going to be totally rad no matter what we did.  The cool thing about shooting other photographers is that they are down for ANYTHING!  During the shoot..I actually think I heard the angels sing when I told Kate and Joe to get into a certain pose and she asked "do you want smiling or fierce?"...you know it's going to be a good day when you hear someone utter the words "fierce"  :-)

Kate and Joe..thanks so much for being such troopers!  We risked life and limb (and Kate nearly touched doggy poo) to get some of these images but it was totally worth it :-)

Here are some of my favs from the shoot.  Kate and Joe wanted a mixture of casual "we're hanging out in California" images and then some dressier "we're fierce" images.

I'll post the casual ones first...

this ones for Joey :-)

love the light in this one!

Now for the "dressy" ones!  Kate really loved the anniversary shoot Doug and I did last year and wanted to do part of her shoot at the same location..I happily obliged :-)

fierce!

Love this one!

This bridge was quite scary to get to..I didn't know if we'd be able to do it but Kate and Joe proved me wrong!

It was gloomy for most of the shoot but the sun peeked out for a little bit :-)  Thanks sun!

how cute are they?

I hope birdcage veils never go out of style...they make me happy :-)

Very special thank you to Carina Lindgren from Flawless Faces for doing a fabulous job on Kate's makeup/hair!  She ALWAYS does such an amazing job!

Annaliza and Cory : Engaged! 01-21-2009

When I first met these two, it was quite obvious that they were madly in love and so excited to be getting married.  While telling me the story of how they met, they couldn't stop smiling and just looked so darn adorable looking at each other all googly-eyed :-)

Sure enough..they were the same way through out their engagement session.  Annaliza voiced her nervousness to me about the shoot but I told her to just focus on Cory and she would be fine.  Sure enough..she was :-)  They hugged, kissed, and laughed throughout their session and it clearly shows that these two are in love :-)

Annaliza and Cory...thanks so much for being totally awesome :-)  I can't wait for your wedding this May!

It was a gorgeous and sunny day...I love this image

I love how the sun is shining through the flowers!

sexy!

see...here they go with their googly "were in love" eyes :-)
