Welcome to my blog! My name is Trista Lerit and I am a wedding photographer based in Orange County, California. Beautiful, Modern, and Edgy Wedding Photography is what I specialize in but every now and then, I love capturing little rascals a.k.a. kids!

This blog is where I'll post pictures from weddings, engagements, and little rascal sessions that I've shot recently. However, I won't limit my posts to photography related things only! This blog also doubles as my online diary where I'll discuss my love of food, share my favorite YouTube videos, post adorable pictures of my dogs (yes, I'm one of THOSE people), and talk about anything else I feel like!

I'd love to hear from all my blog visitors so please don't be shy, my blog doesn't bite ;-)

Thanks for stopping by and come again soon!

Eunice & Bryan : Engaged! 08-19-2009

I've said it before and I'll say it again...I think laughter is the key to a successful marriage!  My most favorite memories of Doug and I are those when were laughing, making fun of each other, doing the happy dance..oh wait..that last one I wasn't supposed to type..oh well :-)  If you're one of Doug's friends, just ignore that one :-)  Of course, I also have some sweet memories of when we first met, etc etc, but the ones that always come to mind first are the fun ones because they always put a smile on my face :-)

Personally, I think Eunice & Bryan are going to have an awesome start to marriage..why you ask?  Because they love to laugh and Bryan is super great at making his future wife laugh..a trait that should be highly regarded!  This was actually the first time I met Bryan and I have to say he had me at "hello" :-)  He is very fun, outgoing, and easygoing all at the same time.  He's easy..I like meeting people that are easy to get along with from the get go..it takes no "work" if you know what I mean :-)  Same for Eunice..she is as sweet as she looks and very unaware of how gorgeous she is!  She mentioned something about being "awkward" in front of the camera..ummm really Eunice?  It must be someone else's camera because my camera saw none of that!

As funny as Bryan was and as "awkward" as Eunice was, these two knew how to work it like pros!  As soon as I said serious, Bryan would have this "rico suave" look..everybody remember Rico Suave right? Rrrriicccoooo......Suuuaavvveee.

Ummm..anyways, back to Eunice and Bryan.  They are getting married in a couple of months and I just know the day is going to full of smiles and laughter..my favorite!

Now for another another kind of favorites..pictures!

This was one of the first shots we took..Bryan wasted no time busting out his "smile" making abilities :-)

Smogshoppe Wedding : Theresa & Ken 08-16-2009

What can I say about Theresa and Ken? They are AWESOME! They have been so sweet thoughout this year and it was bittersweet to finally have their wedding day arrive.  When I showed up at the hotel, I was blown away to see how beautiful Theresa looked and also to see her  amazing dress, hot shoes, and stylish invitations.  Based on these three things, I KNEW the day was going to be GREAT!  Sounds funny but true :-)
Theresa was staying at an AMAZING hotel...it was the perfect back drop for Theresa's portraits but there was one BIG problem..the hotel was not going to let us shoot there!  This I found has been happening more and more lately so to all the brides and grooms out there, even if you rent a room at a hotel, that does not ensure that they will allow you to take pictures.  So before you do anything, talk to somebody before booking to make sure you will be allowed to take pictures.  Lucky for us, Theresa's amazing coordinator Janet, sweet talked the hotel into allowing us to shoot in a small part of their lobby as long as we did not display the name of the hotel in any of the pictures...AGREED!!  Thanks AGAIN Janet for working your magic!!
The ceremony went flawlessly..well except for one part where Ken's brother aka the best man realized mid way into the ceremony that he forgot the rings in the car!  LOL..he was signaling to one of the bridesmaids to get his keys from him so she could get them.   However, while she was still outside, the priest announced the ring exchange and then Ken's brother had to explain to Theresa & Ken what happened.  You know how they responded?  They both laughed!  That's the kind of couple they are..so free and easygoing..I loved it!
Their reception took place at the awesome Smogshoppe in L.A.  This is such a cool venue that is fun, unique and modern.  The flowers and decor were beyond fabulous and I loved their color choice of deep purple, lilac, and violet.  The linens and chairs were the perfect touch and brought everything together wonderfully!
Theresa & Ken..you guys rock!  Thanks for always being so sweet and for making us feel like guests at your wedding.  I hope you guys are having an amazing time on your honeymoon right now!

Now for some favorites..beware...lots of details pics!
I loved their letterpressed invites..letterpess is my ABSOLUTE favorite!

The elevator had a cool "hidden" camera that would take pictures of you the whole time you were in the elevator...

Spunki's going through an....awkward phase :-) 08-14-2009

I'm sure you all remember the perfectly coiffed little puppy you saw just a few weeks ago right?

Well, some time has past since my last post and as to be expected, my little Spunki has grown..hair that is.  Her hair is in that awkward stage of not being long enough to be put into a clip like her brother Mochi's hair, but too long to the point where it's getting a little out of control...as shown in the image below:

You see..she is looking right at me but you can't tell because her eyes are completely covered!  When her head is up, you can barely see her eyes as shown here:

Or when she is glaring at you at the corner of her eye..note..I had to fix her hair a little bit to get her eye uncovered..

I swear I feel like I'm a mom to a teenage "emo" daughter who always has her hair hanging in her face!  I thought "there has to be a way to get that hair out of her face".  Cutting it was completely out of the question because we have plenty of little bows we bought for her hair and are just waiting till the day her bangs are long enough.  As I was driving to a shoot the other day, I thought "they should make headbands for dogs".  Then I had this ingenius idea...

Tape!!  It's light as a feather and I'm sure she barely even knows it's there!  Not only is her hair out of her face, I can see her pretty brown eyes now :-)
