I CANNOT believe a whole year has passed since I entered my 30's. Seriously, the years get shorter and shorter as I get older and older! Not much really has changed since I first turned 30...which is a great thing!!! I heard horror stories of once you turn 30, everything starts falling apart and your metabolism goes out of whack and all other sorts of depressing things...but I am happy to report everything is still in tact...for now...let's hope it stays that way for a good long while :-) As you can see from the title of this post..it's not only MY birthday but my 4th wedding anniversary too! Four years ago to this day, I turned 27 and also married my sweetheart :-) Back when Doug and I first decided to get married on my birthday, I made him promise NNNOOOOOO two for one gifts, eg. "Here is your birthday/anniversary gift honey!" HHEEEELLLLLL to th NOOOOOO!! I'm glad to say, he has kept his promise for the past four years :-) So, what did Mr. Lerit get me the year for my birthday?? One of the bestest gifts I've ever received ever!!! Let's back track a little bit, shall we?? A few weeks ago, I got really sick..bed ridden sick. I NEVER get sick..never never never! So here I am, sick in bed, worried about the next day...not only did I have an engagement shoot in Santa Barbara to do, I also had Jose Villa's workshop to go to. All I kept thinking was "I NEED to get better by tomorrow..I MUST get better by tomorrow". Then, Doug comes in with my bowl of chicken soup along with a little orange envelope and he says with a solemn face "Here is your early birthday gift :-(" I'm thinking "OHHHH NOOO...there is a reason why he is giving me my gift now and why he looks so sad...." I knew exactly what the gift was before I opened it...tickets to see NKOTB....THAT NIGHT!!!!! Anyhone who's been reading my blog for awhile now KNOWS just how much I love the New Kids On The Block!! No really, I love them love them love them! Doug especially knows how much I love them..much to his dismay :-) But what can I say, I loved them long before I met him so he just has to live with it now :-) Anyhow, back to the story, I looked at Doug and said "HOW am I going to go to this??" Then I started praying to God..."PLEASE GOD...please let me get better now!!!" It was still morning and the concert wasn't till that night...the odds were that I wasn't going to be able to go but damn it..I was going to try even if it killed me! You see...I didn't want to go just so I could see the New Kids...I had actually seen them three times prior to that day...one time at the Staples Center, the next month at the Nokia Theater, and then another time at the Jimmy Kimmel show. So, I could have survived (barely) if I didn't get to go to the concert but Jabbawockeez were the opening act and Doug loves them which I'm sure is at least partially the reason why he was willing to go to an NKOTB concert :-) It was so sweet of Doug to not only get me the tickets but to be willing to go with me. That was the main reason why I wanted to go...to show him how much I appreciated his gift. Any guy willing to see NKOTB is amazing, wouldn't you say ;-) Anyhow, long story short, by that night I felt better, we went to the concert, saw the Jabbawockeez, then during intermission, there were several moments where I wanted to turn to Doug and tell him that I didn't feel good and we should leave but I told myself I would at least stick it out for the first song. The New Kids came out, I didn't have any energy to scream, but I was happy :-) I also felt immediately better after they got on stage and was able to stay for half the concert...half is definitely better than nothing, right? *sigh* as we were leaving, the guys had come to the back of the theater to sing and I got this pictures of Joe...that was the best part of the night and totally worth me almost dying from exhaustion :-)
Thank you to my wonderful, adorable, thoughtful sweet husband for taking me to see my most favorite band ever! You are the reason I smile everyday and I can't wait to share many more NKOTB concerts with you :-) hehehe..just kidding honey! I love you more each day and can't wait for you to get home so we can celebrate our anniversary! Now for some random tidbits: Mochi turned five a few days ago and Doug and I nearly forgot!!! We had been anticipating the day for months now and then Doug's parents came to visit us and they happend to leave on Mochi's birthday. So with all the hustle and bustle going on, it wasn't until that evening when I asked Doug about Mochi's birthday that we both realized it was that day!!!! We felt horrible about it so we showered Mochi with hugs and kisses :-) Here is a pic of Mochi I got a couple of weeks ago lying in bed like he does every morning watching TV :-) Also, I joined Twitter! I NEVER EVER in a million years thought I'd join Twitter but gosh darn it, I caved. It's actually quite fun and I can update my Twitter and Facebook page at the same time which is great!
